How much will my cake cost?
There are many different factors that determine the cost of a cake including the complexity of the design, size, shape, decorations and how long it takes to create. Our pricing guide will give you an indication of starting price and it can be found here Price Guide
How do I know what size cake I need?
Cakes are generally served as either coffee (wedding) portions (1” x 1”) or dessert (party) portions (2” x 1”). If other desserts are being served at your event and the cake is just an extra little sweet, we recommend coffee portions. If the cake is to be served as the only dessert, we recommend dessert portions. Knowing how much cake you want to serve your guests will help us to determine the total size needed.
We will also need to know whether you wish to keep the top tier for your anniversary. If so, this will not be included in the calculation of serving sizes, and the cake will be correspondingly larger.
Our portion sizes are based on cutting your cake in a grid-like fashion. We can provide you with a cutting guide to ensure you get the maximum number of slices from your cake.
What flavours do you have?
We offer a range of different cake and filling flavours which have been tried and tested to ensure the perfect flavour combinations. Our signature flavours can be found here
We are also happy to mix & match if there is a particular combo that you’d like.
Can we choose more than one flavour?
Yes. Each tier of your cake can be made a different flavour.
All your flavours sound great. Can we taste them before we choose?
Yes. We offer tasting boxes every 3 months. Our tasting boxes include 8 of our favourite flavours. Contact us to find out when our next boxes will be available.
Do you use fresh flowers on your cakes?
Yes. We work with a number of small local florists to ensure the flowers (fresh or dried) match your theme perfectly. Please include details about your colours/theme when submitting a quote request.
Do you charge a wedding premium?
No. All our quotes are created based on size, shape, design, decoration and time. It makes no difference what the event is.
Do you offer delivery?
We highly recommend delivery for all cakes over 2 tier, with delivery cost calculated based on the distance from our kitchen. Pick ups are welcomed from our address in Wanniassa.
If I collect my cake, how do I transport it?
All cakes are placed on a sturdy cake board and packaged in a cake box. It is recommended that you transport the cake on a flat surface like the boot or passenger side floor with the air-conditioning on.
You should take extra care when driving, avoiding large bumps and driving slowly around the corners. Sweet Dreams Desserts cannot be held responsible for any damage to cakes once they leave our premises.
What do I do with cake leftovers?
Leftover cake can be put into an airtight container and frozen to be enjoyed on a later date. Please make sure the cake is fully defrosted before eating. We do not recommend freezing for longer than 30 days after the initial cut.
